Career Life of Eli Tomac

In 2004, as a beginner, Tomac won Loretta Lynns Amateur titles eight times, this was his sixth year in the competition and the 125cc FIM Junior World Championship in New Zealand. He continued to win more titles from 2006 to 2009 when he won the 125cc FIM Junior World Championship in Taupo, New Zealand.

He joined the Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing for the 2022 season after racing with the Kawasaki factory team from 2016 to 2021. He won the sixth Daytona Supercross in 2022, and in 2023, he won his seventh Daytona Supercross.

Tomac was picked for the 450cc championship. He finished in 3rd place in Anaheim, California and from then he would come in either first second, or fourth place. He won his fourth and fifth race for the season at Daytona Supercross. The season was however suspended because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

In the 2022 AMA Supercross Championship, he won the 450cc title. During the 2023 season, his Achilles tendon ruptured dropping him out of the race, and was unable to finish the season as he was still recovering.

Tomac has been selected for a race in the MXGP in Matterley Basin, United Kingdom to replace Chase Sexton as he has an injury.

Tomac participated on four occasions at the Motocross des Nations USA team from 2013 to 2022. In 2013, he was chosen for the MX2 position in Teutschental, Germany. He had a crash and finished 16th and in the second Moto, he finished 2nd racing along Ken Roczen. This placed the USA team 2nd overall.

In 2014, he was picked to fill the open class position in the race held in Kegums, Latvia. He finished 6th and 3rd in the first and second moto. The team finished in 3rd position.

During the 2018 occasion, he won the 450cc AMA Motocross title, he accepted the team captain position in the MXGP class. He finished in 4th place in Moto 1, crashed in Moto 2, and finished in 7th place. The USA team was placed 5th overall. The race was held in Red Bud MX Buchanan, MI.

In 2022, the race was held at Red Bud MX. It rained heavily and the tracks soaked but they still raced. He finished 9th and 2nd in the second moto and his teammate Justin Cooper came 9th and 4th in the first and second moto. During Moto 3, Tomac finished in 6th place his teammate 3rd and for the first time in 11 years, the USA team took the overall win.

Eli Tomac was born on November 14th, 1992 in Cortez, Colorado. His father, John, is a former road cycling and mountain bike racing champion. He grew up riding bikes on his family ranch with his brother Greg. His dad is his manager.
