The Tragic Accident
The accident happened on April 14, 2024. A KCSO crash report says 24-year-old Savannah Stanley was driving erratically on the wrong side of the road in a Saturn SUV. Authorities believe she was impaired – she had three passengers in her vehicle at the time -. An alcohol blood test is pending.
The KCSO Sergeant DeArmond said speed and alcohol were factors in the accident. They closed the road until about 11:50 pm for investigation and cleanup to commence.
The Victims
Passengers included 21-year-old Kylie Veronica Roberto of Knoxville, daughter of Knoxville 2nd District City Councilmember Andrew Roberto. Kylie was pronounced dead at the scene. The Saturn SUV hit an Acura SUV on Schaeffer Road near Hardin Valley Road. The Saturn spun out of its lane around a curve, crossed over to the other side of the road and struck the Acura at an angle, deputies said.
One of the other passengers in the Saturn was injured and believed to be in serious condition. They were treated at University of Tennessee Medical Center. Savannah Stanley and the Acura driver were taken to Turkey Creek Medical Center with minor injuries.

Councilmember Andrew Roberto, who was Knoxville vice mayor in 2021 to 2023, announced the devastating news. “We lost our daughter Kylie Roberto last night in a car crash. Her age was 21. Kylie was beautiful inside and out, the sweetest soul whose loss is unimaginable. We will really miss Kylie. Those who have reached out – thank you. We need time to grieve and thank you for kindness,” he said.
